Starting the program first time
When you run the administration interface for the first time you are only able to access the settings menu unless you set up an administrator password. Later on you will only be able to access the user interface if you enter this password correctly.

As the administrator password is also stored in the database the database connection settings can also be set in the login window.

The structure of the administrator interface
On the right side you can always see the client panel.
On the left side you can set the clients and the settings of the administrator interface.
The client panel

In the top row of the client panel you can see to which client the informations on the left side belong.
The table in the middle displays the active clients and the icons signaling their states. The icons (ordered from left to right) have the following meanings:
States of the icons:
At the bottom you can find the buttons for starting client procedures:
Attention! The commands that you can execute from the client panel always apply to the clients that are selected and not those that appear in the top row!
Programs and pictures
Requests

On the left side of this screen the requests of applications are displayed that attempted to run, but are not granted yet. Applications that where already granted but have meanwhile changed (due to an update or if altered by malware) are not permitted to run on the client and therefore and appear in the list as updated programs (updated applications can only be granted for the client requesting permission to run the program).
The displayed requests can be categorized by different aspects by changinge the view options at the bottom of the screen on the right side.
If you click on an application in the list important informations about the file are displayed. Based on this data you can easily decide if you would like to permit, restrict or block the application for ever. You can enter your decisions by clicking on the buttons on the right side of the interface. If a program is allowed further time limitation can be set in the pop up window.
Programs

The menu shows the allowed, denied, updated or the system programs of the selected Clients. The bottom right view options can be used to switch among them.
The time limitations can be set or removed from this menu too. To see all the information about a program click to the name of the program.
Please ensure if you are not removing critical system programs before remove any file from the System Program Group.
Pictures

You can run image scanning on the selected client(s). The scanning process inspects the images found on the harddrive of the client (BMP, JPG, PNG, GIF és TIFF image formats are supported), and determines if there are sexually explicit or pornographic images on the client. After the scanning process is finished you can inspect and evaluate the results by using the ’Picture Cleaner’ (in the start menu) on the client PC.
URL-s

This filter can be used for web content – HTTP packets – filtering.
The filtering URLs can be assigned to allow or deny lists. The allow list has higher priority over the deny list.
The standard ‘?’ and ‘*’ metacharacters can be used with the URLs definitions to substitute one or more characters. These characters are suggested to use for more efficient filtering.
The URLs can be assigned to groups what helps to organise them further.
Keywords

The Keywords filter can be used also for Web content – HTTP packets – filtering.
The Keywords lists are searched on the browsed pages and summary points calculated according the point values of the words. If the summary points per page is reaching the Deny threshold the download of that page is stopped.
Added keywords are also filtered in MSN or IRC based chats and after the tolerance level is reached the chat conversation is blocked automatically.
Please note that the effective point configuration might needs multiple changes because of the different structure of the HTML pages. Keywords in the meta tags of a page header – describing the content of the webpage - are handled with higher priority (these keywords are not displayed on the page as they are META tags)!
No substitution characters can be used for the Keywords.
The Keywords can be assigned to groups what helps to organise them further.
The keywords can be saved and loaded as templates in a similar way as in case of IP- or URL filter-settings.
The tolerance level for filtering is only applied if you approve it by clicking on the ‘>’ button!
Blocked pictures

Once the network filter is turned on image uploads to any webpage are immediately blocked (including web based mail services, therefore it will not be permitted to send images over webmail platforms as attachments!).
You can disable image-download filtering and image-upload blocking by checking the ‘Disable picture filtering’ checkbox.
In this screen you can review image-upload requests. Once an upload was granted the image will be permitted for upload from the client as long as it is on the list.
Attention! If you remove an image from the list it will not be permitted for upload anymore on the client, meaning that it will be blocked from being uploaded and will appear as a blocked image in the list!
IP-s

The IP address, Network mask, Protocol type and Port number parameters of the selected Clients can be configured in this menu. The Intranet Network access also can be controlled with these parameters.
The same Network Filter can be used both for Allow or Deny according to the group we will assign to. If a Network Filter assigned to both Allow and Deny groups it will be marked by red color by the program. The Allow list has higher priority over the Deny list.
The value zero can be used as a wild card if we want to cover all the possible values. (For example zero can be used to cover the Port Range range from 1 to 65535 ).
Groups

The group definition can be used for URL and keyword filtering for more efficient and easier use of the filters.
Please note that the group removal deletes all the settings for that group.
Settings

The Administration Desktop settings can be changed from this menu. The database access parameters can be set up on the database panel. It should be a valid Dolphin Knight C type database. A valid Administration password is needed to change these parameters.
There are different passwords can be used for the Administration Desktop password and the Database access password. They are both stored in the database.
The language settings are affecting the language of the Administration Desktop and the language of the Client side warning messages.
The Calendar settings can be used to adjust the time limitations of the programs.
The Automatic Refresh Interval adjust the refresh period of the Client panel and the request tab.
The Apply button should be used to activate and save the new settings, parameters.
